Due to continued growth, the finance team is looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to support a varied portfolio of clients and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
Your new role involves working closely with senior finance colleagues, playing a key role in delivering accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls, and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Producing budgets, forecasts, and expenditure analysis
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Supporting year-end accounting and audit requirements
- Managing invoicing, supplier payments, and account reconciliations
- Monitoring outstanding balances and assisting with credit control activities
- Preparing reports and financial information for clients and stakeholders
- Supporting month-end processes and improving internal controls
- Assisting with general finance administration and wider team projects
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience within an accounts or finance position
- AAT Level 4 qualified, studying, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, journals, and month-end processes
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
