Job Title: Anatomical Pathology Support Worker

Location: Singleton Hospital, Swansea or Morriston Hospital

About you:

An opportunity has arisen for a biomedical support worker in Swansea, to work under supervision within the pathology department undertaking tasks delegated by the Mortuary Manager in accordance with theapproved methods and quality assurance protocols.

Key Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • To record the admission of bodies (adult and children) to the mortuary including checks of identity and physical condition of the deceased plus recording of valuables and property.
  • Book-in products of conception, foetal, stillbirth and neonatal deaths onto the Pathology LIMS system.
  • Release of bodies from the mortuary into care of undertakers following a strict protocol.
  • Access to Health Assured (mental health and wellbeing support).
  • First access to shifts with the ability to block book shifts in advance.
