Personal assistant needed for a 42 year old man with Down's Syndrome. The aim of PA support is to enhance personal, social, and emotional skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The role is focused around motivating, encouraging and providing consistent support.
  • This will include encouraging him to use the skills he already possesses to his full potential.
  • The individual requiring support doesn't cope well with change unless it is planned in advance.

About Me:

The individual is 42 years old and has Down's Syndrome. He lives semi-independently in a house next door to his parents and is capable of carrying out some domestic chores independently but needs encouragement at times. He is very capable and enjoys social interaction. He needs to be encouraged to be more active and to use the skills he already possesses to their best. The individual enjoys gym work, decopatch, going to the pub and watching films. We have recently bought a greenhouse which he needs encouragement to use. The individual has a few minor health issues which can at times limit his ability but with encouragement these can be managed. There are no pets within the home.
