Nature of the job role: Personal Assistants (2 positions - 1:1 indoors and 2:1 outdoors) β Stimulate an Amazing Mind & Make a Real Difference
Main Duties:
- Support a thoughtful, intelligent 25-year-old man with autism, anxiety, and sensory processing needs to live an independent and fulfilling life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support communication using his AAC device.
- Encourage self-expression, choice, and meaningful interaction.
- Engage him in his interests (history, culture, and film).
- Provide 2:1 support in the community.
- Assist with walks, cafΓ© visits, and other activities.
- Support daily routines, independence, personal care, and emotional wellbeing.
- Recognise and respond to anxiety, sensory overload, and behaviours of concern using a calm, person-centred approach.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience supporting autistic people with complex needs.
- AAC experience preferred.
- Patient, calm, emotionally intelligent, and compassionate.
- Enjoys learning, conversation, and building meaningful relationships.
- Physically able to support community outings.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
