Support Worker Required to Support a 10-Year-Old Child in the Community.
We are looking for a caring, patient and reliable Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for our 10-year-old son, who has Autism, ADHD and limited verbal communication. The role involves supporting him to access social and leisure activities within the local community and helping him to enjoy age-appropriate experiences safely. He enjoys being out and about and benefits from the support of a calm, understanding person who can build a positive relationship with him.
Our son has no awareness of danger and therefore requires close supervision at all times. He can become overwhelmed in certain situations and may need reassurance and support to help him regulate his behaviour. We are seeking someone who can remain calm, patient and responsive to his needs. Experience of supporting children with Autism and/or limited or non-verbal communication would be advantageous, although a positive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs are equally important. Personal care support will be required. Further details will be discussed at interview.
