Are you passionate about planning and delivering engaging physical activity events that inspire people to be more active? Are you experienced in developing innovative physical activity programmes that engage communities and encourage healthier lifestyles?

Active Sunderland is looking for a motivated and experienced Delivery Officer to play a key role in the organisation, management and delivery of a year-round programme of physical activity events and community participation opportunities across the city. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody with a strong background in event management, partnership working and sport or physical activity development to help deliver Sunderland's ambition of becoming a more active, healthier city.

About the Role

Working within the Active Sunderland team, you will lead on the planning, coordination and delivery of a diverse programme of physical activity participation events, community initiatives and place-based programmes. Through a co-production approach, you will work closely with residents, communities and partners to design and deliver opportunities that meet local needs and increase activity levels, particularly amongst inactive and less active residents.

You will work with community organisations, sports clubs, leisure providers and a wide range of partners to create accessible opportunities that help people move more, improve their wellbeing and develop healthier lifestyles. The role involves contributing to communications and marketing activity to promote initiatives, engage communities, and showcase the impact of our work.

Whether it’s delivering large-scale participation events, supporting local community initiatives, or developing innovative programmes that respond to local needs, you’ll be at the heart of making physical activity more visible, accessible and inclusive across Sunderland.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
