We are currently looking for an experienced bookkeeper / assistant accountant to join a well-established business within the leisure sector on a temporary part-time basis. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day finance function and would suit an experienced finance professional who is comfortable managing accounts through to trial balance.
Your new role:
- Maintaining accounts to trial balance
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Processing journals and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with management accounts
- Supporting the monthly reporting (desirable but not essential)
- General bookkeeping and finance administration duties as required
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounts to trial balance
- Experience preparing VAT returns
- Confident in completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accounting records
- Good attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
