We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and moderate learning difficulties. The pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in place and is currently working at a Key Stage 1 level. You will play a vital role in supporting the child's learning, communication and social development, helping them access the curriculum and achieve the targets outlined within their EHCP.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team, you will adapt learning activities, provide focused interventions and help create a positive and structured environment that enables the pupil to thrive both academically and emotionally.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school setting
- Experience working with pupils with ASD and moderate learning difficulties
- Good understanding of EHCPs and supporting individual learning targets
- Ability to adapt learning activities to meet a child's specific needs
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A patient, caring and nurturing approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
