Your Role

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join its highly regarded and forward-thinking Property Team within Legal and Democratic Services. The Property Team are currently supporting the Council with a range of exciting and high-profile projects as well as day-to-day estate management work. You will handle an interesting and varied workload and provide advice on a number of high-profile matters as a legal advisor to the Council.

About You

  • Be a qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with hands-on real estate experience with at least 3+ years’ PQE
  • Engage in a broad spectrum of work across a variety of sectors, including acquisitions and disposals alongside all aspects of asset management. Experience of local authority constitutional law would be desirable
  • Build and sustain excellent collaborative working relationships with client departments, colleagues, Members, partners and other stakeholders
  • Enjoy working as part of a dynamic, commercial and pragmatic team and have the ability to work flexibly across the team
  • Actively contribute towards the team’s precedents and internal know-how
