Biomedical Scientist Band 5/6 Haematology & Transfusion
To participate in the routine and specialist work of all sections of the department.
To work all aspects of the 24/7 shift rota/out of hours service to maintain service provision.
To be responsible for ones own work (as per HCPC standards), when working independently and as part of a team.
To ensure laboratory instruments are maintained and are in working order as per departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
To maintain a high quality of work within the department and perform all aspects of quality control procedures including troubleshooting.
Apply specialist knowledge to check the technical validity and quality of all results and processes in the area of responsibility.
To assist the department with maintaining ISO accreditation.
Training/supervision of junior and less experienced staff grades.

If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £26.90.
This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
