We are recruiting for a Safeguarding Children Nurse Specialist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic safeguarding team has arisen. We require a dynamic, highly motivated and committed practitioner to work with health and multiagency colleagues to ensure the provision of safe and effective services to safeguard vulnerable children across Hertfordshire.

The post holder will be a fundamental part of the safeguarding team and work closely with the Trust leads to ensure that the safeguarding of children remains at the heart of practice. Working with teams across the organisation you will be responsible for providing knowledge and expertise in all aspects of safeguarding children in the acute and community setting.

The post holder will be expected to provide expertise and knowledge demonstrating a sound understanding of the issues relating to the identification, assessment and treatment, management of vulnerable children and families. This includes involvement in monitoring and improving standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit and evidence-based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues contributing to the Safeguarding governance process across the Trust.

The post holder will provide clinical support and guidance to staff within the hospital and community setting: this will include supporting staff in formulating appropriate, quality referrals to social care; case management and supervision, and actively participate on the on-call child protection medical rota.
