As a band 5 MSK physiotherapist, you will have the opportunity to learn alongside developing your clinical skills for practice. Participation in our in-house development programme will also equip you with skills and attributes essential to the rest of your career. You will be fully integrated into a larger team with a focus on delivering high-quality care at the right time and place.
As the successful candidate, you will have:

- Ability to prioritise and make sound decisions, sometimes under pressure.
You will carry a varied caseload of musculoskeletal complaints with a view to utilise all treatment and care options as appropriate, with the support of a named supervisor. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out effective and appropriate assessments using knowledge and skills combined with clinical reasoning and contributing towards accurate diagnosis.
- Working with patients to identify and agree treatment goals, delivering patient-centred care based on assessment outcomes.
- Using communication, reasoning, and negotiation skills to establish a working partnership with patients, families, and carers, identifying barriers to communication.
- Planning and leading patient group sessions as clinically relevant.
- Addressing all risk areas associated with individual patients’ ability to function.
- Contributing to effective discharge planning.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions/treatments using outcome measures.
- Representing the Physiotherapy Service within the multidisciplinary team and participating in relevant team/network meetings, clinics, and contributing to the discussion and planning of patient care.
- Working with assistants and technical instructors regarding clinical caseloads and providing necessary support on clinical issues.
