Rapier Employment is recruiting HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers for a leading logistics operation based in Stanford-le-Hope.

Whether you're an experienced driver or newly qualified, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established transport operation offering ongoing work, structured shift patterns, and excellent earning potential.

  • Pay Rates
  • £24.43 per hour overtime (after 48 hours worked per week)
  • Weekly PAYE pay
  • Holiday pay accrued separately

Choose from a variety of regular shift patterns

  • Days: Monday to Friday
  • Nights: Sunday to Thursday
  • 4 on, 4 off shifts also available
  • Start Times
  • Day Shifts
  • Earlier starts may occasionally be required to meet customer delivery schedules, including deliveries into Southampton from 05:00.
  • Night Shifts

Average shift lengths are 12–15 hours.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for completing RDC pallet deliveries across the South East, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

Working with a modern fleet, you’ll play an important role in keeping the supply chain moving while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

  • Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
  • Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork
  • Ensuring compliance with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
  • Delivering a professional and reliable service to customers
  • Following all company health and safety procedures
  • Assessment & Induction

Before starting, all successful applicants will complete

  • Drug and alcohol screening
  • Theory assessment
  • Practical driving assessment

Following a successful assessment, you’ll attend a full site induction before starting your role.

  • What We’re Looking For
  • Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
  • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points
  • No DR, CD or IN endorsements
  • A reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
  • Good understanding of Drivers' Hours, Working Time Regulations, and road transport legislation
