Taylor Blackwood Associates are currently recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional to join a busy and supportive team. The successful candidate will initially be site-based for training before moving to a hybrid working arrangement, with the opportunity to work from home while attending site when required.

The Role

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the purchasing function and ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of materials
  • Responding to shortages and exception messages in line with production demand
  • Raising purchase orders and expediting overdue deliveries
  • Obtaining supplier quotations, benchmarking costs, and negotiating where appropriate
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing data within internal systems
  • Processing requests for consumables and miscellaneous items
  • Providing general administrative support to the Purchasing team
