We are currently recruiting for Information & Communications Project Lead (Staff Officer) for our client based in Lisburn. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI are completed.

Rate of pay: £19.95ph

Duration: up to 6 Months with review

Hours of work: Full time 37 Hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of the Role: The Staff Officer will support the delivery of NIEA Business Plan objectives and the NIEA Planning Improvement Plan, with a particular focus on improving the accessibility, usability and effectiveness of planning information on the DAERA website. The postholder will lead work to understand user needs, review and redesign web content, and implement improvements that enhance the customer experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Delivery: Lead and manage work contributing to NIEA targets, business objectives and the Planning Improvement Plan. Drive improvements to planning information and services through user-focused design and continuous improvement.
  • Website and User Experience Improvement: Gather and analyse user feedback, website data and stakeholder requirements. Review and redesign planning-related web pages to ensure they are accessible, user-friendly and meet customer needs. Monitor the impact of improvements and identify further opportunities for enhancement. Proofread materials for inclusion on the website.
  • Correspondence Management: Coordinate, prioritise and quality assure high volumes of complex correspondence, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Written Communication: Draft, review and edit correspondence, reports and briefing papers for senior management. Ensure communications are clear, accurate and appropriate for sensitive or high-profile matters.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships across NIEA, DAERA and wider NICS teams. Liaise with stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of outputs.
  • Governance: Ensure compliance with NICS records management and governance requirements. Develop and update guidance documents, procedures and supporting documentation as required.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

  • GCSE/GCE passes in Maths and English.
  • Degree Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of effective leadership and communication, setting and prioritising goals to meet organisational business objectives.
  • At least 2 years' experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders to meet business objectives.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with a wide range of teams.
  • Preparation of clear, concise and accurate reports.
  • Experience of working in public sector.
  • Strong attention to detail and a logical, problem-solving mindset. (Proof of certs required)
  • Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to use own initiative.
