Working with a multidisciplinary infant feeding team, you'll provide skilled support to families during the early weeks after birth so that they feel informed, confident and supported in feeding their baby. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference to families at an important stage in their lives. You'll support parents who may be experiencing feeding challenges, uncertainty or low confidence, offering practical guidance and reassurance through a mix of face-to-face, home, community and digital contacts. Full training is provided, with opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills in infant feeding and evidence-based practice.
What you'll do:
- Provide practical infant feeding support, information and reassurance to parents
- Support families with feeding techniques, including breastfeeding, expressing and bottle feeding
- Deliver one-to-one and group sessions for parents and families
- Work with midwives, health visitors and other professionals to provide joined-up support
- Maintain accurate records and use digital systems to manage workload and communication
What we’re looking for:
- Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience supporting people in a health, social care, community or customer-focused setting
- Strong communication skills and a caring, non-judgemental approach
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and adapt to changing needs
- Confidence using digital systems and a willingness to learn and develop
