You’ll support parents in the early days after birth, helping them build confidence with feeding their baby and giving them the best possible start. Working as part of a friendly infant feeding and maternity team, you will provide practical guidance and encouragement to parents during their hospital stay. This role plays an important part in promoting positive feeding experiences, supporting parent wellbeing and ensuring families have access to the information they need before going home. You will work closely with midwives and other healthcare professionals to provide consistent, supportive care.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide practical support and reassurance to parents with infant feeding
  • Demonstrate feeding techniques, including breastfeeding positioning, hand expressing and responsive bottle feeding
  • Promote positive feeding practices and share information about ongoing support services
  • Work closely with midwives and the wider infant feeding team
  • Recognise concerns and elevate them appropriately to healthcare professionals

What we’re looking for:

  • Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent experience
  • Good communication skills and a caring, respectful approach
  • Experience providing information or practical support to others
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain confidentiality
  • Basic IT skills and willingness to learn through training and supervision
