The adult Audiology department at Royal Derby Hospital is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Audiologists to work within our friendly, busy Audiology Department across a number of our Southern Derbyshire sites (mainly based in Derby). We are a complex only service and therefore provide more opportunities to expand your knowledge and work with a more varied cohort of patients.

We are happy to consider applicants with less than 3 years post graduate experience and also anyone graduating over the Summer of 2026. Further training and experience can be provided to the right applicants to enable transition into a Band 6 role.

The successful applicant will join our Team of Audiologists to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology service for adults which will include working with patients with more complex audiological issues. You will be involved in the initial assessment of patients referred from their GP, typically with asymmetrical hearing loss, unilateral or asymmetrical tinnitus and other associated symptoms. You will be required to determine appropriate treatment, refer for MRI scans where appropriate or refer onwards when required.

The department also works closely with our Team of ENT Consultants and Audiological Physician, particularly regarding services for patients with vestibular symptoms. Involvement in Student training, audit and quality improvement is also likely. You will be expected to work across a number of sites, so a willingness to travel/access to a motor vehicle is desirable.

As a trusted organisation at the heart of our communities, we recognise the important role we can play in supporting the public, patients, our own people and local partners in achieving the best of health for the local population and the communities in which they live by providing Exceptional Care Together. Our fundamental Values of Compassion, Openness and Excellence underpin how we intend to work as a Trust and the associated behaviours are becoming embedded in all aspects of how we work.

In return we will offer:

  • Development opportunities, both professional and leadership development
  • On-going support from recruitment to when you join our team and beyond.
  • Staff benefits including employee assistance programme, discounted gym membership, onsite fitness classes, car schemes
