Located on a stunning, one-of-a-kind campus in Cranleigh, this school provides both staff and students with educational experiences that extend far beyond the traditional classroom setting - featuring forest schooling, stables, and an on-site swimming pool. In this role, you will be dedicated to supporting children aged 8 to 13.

Working Hours: Monday 8:30-16:00, Tuesday-Thursday 8:30-16:15, Friday 8:30-15:45

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the delivery of fundamental subjects, including PSHE, numeracy, and literacy, while fostering essential daily living skills.
  • Utilise multi-sensory techniques, such as signs, Makaton, symbols, or specialised aids, to enhance student communication.
  • Offer emotional guidance to help students navigate feelings of frustration or anxiety and develop effective self-regulation strategies.
  • Collaborate within a committed, expert team that provides extensive mentoring and training; this includes full instruction for roles requiring personal care support.

You Must Have…

  • The ability to interpret information for students with a wide spectrum of ability.
  • Confidence with written and oral communication, organisational skills and attention to detail for meeting tight deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills within a solo-working or team environment.
  • An enthusiastic attitude towards learning, alongside committed and empathetic qualities.
  • Access to your own transportation due to semi-rural location.

Ideally You Will Have…

  • Previous experience working in a role supporting students with autism spectrum disorder or within a special educational needs setting.
  • Team Teach training, or willing to undergo training before employment begins and refresher training periodically thereafter.
