I am recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a growing construction business, supporting the delivery of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards across a range of construction projects and wider business operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and driven Health & Safety professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive environment. You will work closely with project teams, site managers and operational stakeholders, providing practical advice and helping to drive a positive safety culture across the business.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a key role in supporting compliance, improving SHEQ performance and promoting best practice across multiple construction projects.
You will work collaboratively with project managers, site teams and stakeholders to ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained and continuously improved, while supporting the wider SHEQ strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical SHEQ advice and guidance to project managers, site managers and site teams.
- Support compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Review risk assessments, method statements and associated SHEQ documentation.
- Identify operational risks and support the development of practical solutions.
- Assist with accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Deliver and support SHEQ training, inductions, briefings and toolbox talks.
- Maintain accurate SHEQ records, reports and performance data.
- Promote positive safety behaviours and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support management systems and accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, external bodies and key stakeholders on Health & Safety matters.
- Attend project and site meetings as required.
Requirements
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
- Construction industry experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- IOSH membership or working towards membership.
