As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing care staff during your shift, ensuring that service users receive safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will act as a role model for the team, provide guidance during emergencies, and work closely with healthcare professionals, families, and colleagues to deliver outstanding support. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, support, and monitor Care Workers.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of the shift and service delivery while on duty.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and provide guidance to care staff.
- Support service users with personal care, including:
- Dressing and undressing
- Washing and bathing
- Toileting needs
- Mobility assistance
- Feeding and mealtime support where required
- Promote service users' comfort, dignity, independence, and overall wellbeing.
- Plan and facilitate meaningful activities that encourage engagement, social interaction, and stimulation.
- Assist service users with daily living tasks, including correspondence, managing bills, and accessing benefits where appropriate.
- Carry out light domestic duties and meal preparation as required.
- Monitor and record service users' health and wellbeing, including vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight.
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and other agencies to implement and review care plans.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and care quality standards.
- Contribute to the out-of-hours on-call duty on a rotational basis, responding to calls from care workers, service users and families, and escalating concerns where appropriate.
