We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our specialist neuromodulation service at University Hospital Southampton. This is a specialist service providing pain management for patients undergoing implantation of spinal cord and occipital nerve stimulators.
This role offers the opportunity to provide expert, evidence-based care and advice for patients with complex and persistent pain while supporting safe practice, education, governance and service improvement across inpatient and outpatient pathways. This is an excellent opportunity to develop highly specialised skills within a nationally recognised service, working both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with persistent pain.

The successful candidate will be an experienced registered nurse with strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a commitment to person-centred care. They will work autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, supporting pain assessment, care planning, patient education, staff development, audit and quality improvement.
This post is suited to a nurse who is keen to develop specialist neuromodulation and pain management expertise and contribute to a compassionate and continuously improving Trust Culture. Please note this post is restricted to registered nurses (NMC registered) due to essential clinical competencies required of the post-holder including post-operative wound assessment, surgical site management and the delivery of specialist nursing care throughout the neuromodulation pathway.
