We are currently recruiting for an MOT Technician on behalf of our client, a reputable franchised main dealership in Southampton, Hampshire. This is an excellent MOT Technician opportunity for experienced motor trade professionals seeking career progression within a supportive and professional environment.

Competitive basic salary up to £34,000 depending on experience OTE £39,000 with a structured bonus scheme.

Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am to 5:00pm. One Saturday every two months, 8:30am to 12:30pm.

23 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Duties of an MOT Technician:

  • Conducting vehicle repairs and routine servicing in accordance with manufacturer standards.
  • Carrying out MOT testing (Level 3 qualification preferred; Level 2 individuals with testing licence considered).
  • Diagnosing faults accurately and performing necessary repairs.
  • Communicating effectively with customers regarding vehicle issues and repair progress.
  • Supporting and mentoring Junior Technicians within the workshop.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participating in ongoing technical training to stay abreast of vehicle technology developments.

Requirements of an MOT Technician:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • MOT Tester qualification (Level 3 preferred; Level 2 with testing licence considered).
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Proven workshop experience with solid technical skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and dedicated to delivering excellent customer service.
