South Hampshire College Group is seeking exceptional and inspiring Inclusive Education Managers across the College Group (Southampton, Eastleigh and Fareham College) to lead and develop our approach to inclusion, learner support, attendance, and engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments where every learner can thrive, regardless of background, circumstance or additional need.
As the Inclusive Education Manager, you will be part of the Additional Learning Support (ALS) Team, providing both strategic and operational leadership for inclusion across South Hampshire College Group.
Working in close partnership with colleagues in Safeguarding, Quality, Curriculum, and other cross-college teams, you will play a key role in delivering our vision for inclusive education
You will lead the development of a consistent, evidence-informed approach to pastoral support, attendance, transition and learner engagement, ensuring learners with SEND, SEMH needs, vulnerabilities and other barriers to learning receive the support they need to achieve and succeed.
A key aspect of the role will involve line managing a team of Transition and Pastoral Support Coaches, driving high-quality interventions that improve attendance, wellbeing, retention and learner outcomes across all campuses.

Duties
- Lead the operational delivery of the Group's Inclusion Strategy.
- Develop and embed a consistent approach to inclusion, transition, attendance and learner engagement.
- Line manage and support Transition and Pastoral Support Coaches across the Group.
- Lead initiatives and interventions that improve attendance, participation, retention and achievement.
- Drive inclusion-focused quality improvement activity across curriculum and support services.
- Design and deliver staff development programmes relating to SEND, adaptive teaching, learner engagement and inclusive practice.
- Support the implementation of national SEND reforms and inclusive education initiatives.
- Use learner data to identify trends, monitor impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Build effective partnerships with schools, local authorities, social care, health services and other external agencies.
- Promote restorative, relational and trauma-informed approaches across learner support services.
- Champion a culture of belonging, equity, aspiration and high expectations for all learners.
- Ideal Attributes
We are looking for someone who
- Has substantial experience of leading inclusion, learner support, SEND, attendance or pastoral services within education.
- Possesses a strong understanding of SEND legislation, inclusive education, safeguarding and learner wellbeing.
- Has experience managing teams and driving service improvement.
- Can analyse data and use evidence to inform strategic decision-making.
- Has excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and positive learner outcomes.
- Can influence and support curriculum teams to embed adaptive and inclusive practice.
- Is passionate about removing barriers to learning whilst maintaining high expectations and aspirations for every learner.
