We're looking for an enthusiastic Lifestyle Manager / Activities Coordinator to lead a vibrant and engaging programme of activities that inspires, connects and celebrates every individual.
About the Role
As our Activities Manager, you'll get to know each resident personally, learning about their life story, interests and aspirations to create meaningful experiences tailored to them.
From organising community visits and special events to encouraging one-to-one engagement and supporting residents to pursue lifelong passions, you'll play a key role in enhancing wellbeing, reducing isolation and creating moments that matter.
Working closely with colleagues, families and local organisations, you'll help ensure every day offers opportunities for fun, purpose and connection.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and lead a varied programme of meaningful activities for individuals and groups, tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
- Build strong relationships with residents by exploring their life histories, hobbies and personal preferences.
- Develop partnerships with local schools, charities, churches and community groups to enhance the activity programme.
- Arrange visits from entertainers, performers and external organisations to bring exciting experiences into the home.
- Encourage and support colleagues to deliver activities alongside you and confidently continue programmes in your absence.
- Record and evaluate activities using PCS, updating care plans and activity records accurately.
- Champion the My Life Story and Resident of the Day initiatives, ensuring life histories and social information are kept up to date.
- Promote a resident-led culture by educating colleagues about individual preferences, backgrounds and life experiences.
- Gather photographs and stories from activities to contribute to newsletters, noticeboards and social media, ensuring appropriate consent has been obtained.
- Share ideas and best practice through monthly social committee meetings.
- Be flexible to support occasional evening or special events where required.
About You
- Is creative, enthusiastic and passionate about improving quality of life for older people.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enjoys building relationships with residents, families and the wider community.
- Is organised and confident planning engaging activities and events.
- Has good IT skills and is comfortable recording information electronically.
- Can motivate others and encourage a whole-home approach to resident engagement.
- Is flexible, proactive and able to adapt activities to meet changing needs and abilities.
- Working Pattern
Permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on followed by three consecutive shifts off
Average 24.5 hours per week
Flexibility to support occasional evening activities and events as required.
