Join our dedicated Maternity Ultrasound team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and play a key role in delivering high quality, compassionate care to women and families across our services. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sonographer with expertise in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound who is passionate about clinical excellence, patient experience, and service development.
In this autonomous Band 7 role, you will undertake and independently report a wide range of obstetric and gynaecological examinations, supporting both routine and complex patient pathways. You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of safe, evidence-based care while maintaining the highest professional standards.

As a Band 7 Sonographer within the Maternity Ultrasound Service, you will provide a high-quality obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound service, performing and independently reporting a wide range of examinations including transvaginal scanning, fetal anomaly screening, growth assessments and Doppler studies. Using advanced clinical judgement, you will assess findings, communicate results sensitively, and contribute to effective patient management within multidisciplinary care pathways.
You will work closely with obstetric, midwifery and fetal medicine teams to deliver safe, compassionate and evidence-based care, always ensuring an excellent patient experience. The role also involves supporting service development, audit, quality assurance and adherence to national screening standards and Trust policies.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled sonographer with excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, who can work autonomously and manage a varied workload in a busy clinical environment. A commitment to continuous professional development, clinical excellence and teamwork is essential. You will also play an important role in mentoring and supporting student sonographers, junior staff and medical trainees, contributing to the development of a skilled and sustainable workforce within a forward-thinking ultrasound service.
