Ward 5 is a busy Endocrinology Ward providing care for Patients with a range of Acute and long-term Endocrine conditions.
The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) plays a key role in supporting the nursing team to deliver safe, effective and compassionate patient care.

Main duties of the job are
- Support the delivery of person-centred care under the supervision of registered and non registered nursing staff.
- Assist patients with personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting, meals).
- Help with non-clinical duties in a ward or department.
- Ensure patient safety, dignity, and wellbeing at all times.

- Level 2 Health Care Apprenticeship
On successful completion of apprenticeship and care certificate (approximately 8 months), you will have the opportunity to progress to a Band 3 Health Care Assistantrole within the Trust.
This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.

- Assisting patients with personal care, nutrition, hydration, and mobility.
- Supporting patients with activities of daily living whilst maintaining dignity and independence.
- Undertaking routine clinical observations and reporting concerns to the registered nurse.

- Assisting with specimen collection, patient transfers, and maintaining a safe ward environment.
- Ensuring accurate documentation in line with Trust policies.
- Working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Contributing to infection prevention, patient safety, and high standards of care.
