We are currently recruiting for an experienced
Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead a small team of Maintenance Engineers while remaining actively involved in the maintenance, reliability and improvement of production machinery.
The Role
You will report to the Maintenance Manager and take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance activities across the department, ensuring machinery remains reliable and production downtime is minimised.
Key responsibilities will include
- Leading and supporting a small team of Maintenance Engineers.
- Providing technical guidance, support and mentoring to the engineering team.
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across production machinery.
- Maintaining production machinery, conveyors, material handling systems, granulators and ancillary equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules.
- Using a structured and methodical approach to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Liaising with external technical support where required.
- Ensuring maintenance activities meet health & safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the Agility system.
- Identifying opportunities to improve machine availability, reliability and efficiency.
- Supporting continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer who is confident working across both mechanical and electrical engineering and is ready to take the next step into a senior or supervisory position.
You will ideally have
- An engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.
