Where will you be working? At M Group Rail & Aviation, we’re dedicated to ensuring the safe, efficient, and seamless movement of people and goods across some of the most vital transportation sectors in the UK rail, aviation, defence, and adjacent markets. Our expertise spans these industries, where we maintain, and upgrade critical infrastructure - leading the way in shaping the future of transport. This role is based at London Gatwick Airport and delivers projects both landside and airside.

Aviation- Our Aviation team works across a wide range of specialist civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works including major international airports, regional airports and RAF airfields.

What will you be doing? As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for the successful delivery and performance of aviation infrastructure projects at London Gatwick Airport. You’ll lead site teams, manage resources, and ensure that all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role is pivotal in delivering successful projects. This is a senior site role and key to the successful delivery of buildings projects at Gatwick Airport. These are through existing airfield frameworks and tendered projects directly with Airports as well as energy clients and other tier 1 contractors. A range of delivery experience is required for this role.

  • You will oversee day-to-day operations across multiple aviation infrastructure projects and maintenance.
  • Lead and develop site teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with planning and commercial teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Manage labour, materials, and equipment scheduling to meet project timelines.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, CDM regulations and NEC3/4 contracts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors.
  • Support the tendering process and early contractor involvement (ECI) where required.
  • Lead site teams including direct staff and subcontractors, ensuring daily briefings, inductions, and safe task execution.
  • Manage and monitor site activities against programme targets, maintain records (photos, diaries, as-built drawings), and write/update contract programmes.

What you’ll bring: Demonstrable experience in civil engineering and infrastructure operations. SMSTS, CSCS (Supervisor), valid driving licence, and demonstrable experience in supervising civils aviation projects. Strong engineering background (earthworks, drainage, structures, building fit out) and familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contract mechanisms. Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills. Deep understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards. Knowledge of CDM roles and SHEQ responsibilities. Good commercial acumen for cost control, highly organised, adaptable to change, and able to manage multiple priorities.
