The aim of the post is to support a post-doctoral clinical academic to work within the School, to develop their skills and expertise, and become an independent researcher in primary care. The post-holder will work within one of the areas of research excellence, in primary care, to publish research work in high-quality journals, and apply for research funding from grant‑giving bodies to support own future research.
Supervise postgraduate and undergraduate student research. You will develop and contribute clinical expertise to ongoing and new programmes of research within the School. We have particular expertise in the following areas:
- Musculoskeletal Pain and Arthritis
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Dementia
- Prognosis and Consultation Epidemiology
- Cardiology
- Global and Public Health
The post is open to applicants with skills and experience in any type of research or methodology. You will be qualified to PhD level in health research (or within three months of submission) of your thesis. You will be expected to contribute clinical insights, and knowledge and expertise in General Practice in one or more of the research programmes in the School, and participate in teaching and research training programmes, contribute to the development of new studies and research grant applications, and undertake an active role in PhD supervision. You will also be required to maintain up to 5 PAs as a practising GP.
