  • Holds a DfE recognised teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status
  • Business Studies/Computer Science Degree or equivalent qualifications
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Ability to use assessment, tracking and student level data to raise standards of achievement
  • Evidence of successful teaching across the 11-16 range and ability range
  • Ability to teach Computer Science across KS3, KS4 and KS5 and Business Studies across KS4 and KS5
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the qualities of good teaching and effective learning and how these can be applied to raise student attainment
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the effective planning and delivery of a balanced curriculum
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and proven experience of teaching across the key stages
  • Has a clear vision and strong commitment to inclusion and how this can be achieved for students
  • Has the ability and strong commitment to working in partnership with staff and parents
  • Can set, maintain and actively promote high standards of student behaviour

Further details about the role:

We are seeking an exceptional and ambitious teacher to lead our Computer Science and Business Studies Department from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced middle leader or a talented teacher ready to take the next step into leadership. The successful candidate will teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 and Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, while leading curriculum development, teaching and learning, assessment, and enrichment across both subject areas. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future direction and profile of Computer Science and Business within the College, inspiring students and colleagues to achieve the highest standards.

The Computer Science and Business Studies Department is a collaborative and supportive team of two teaching staff, committed to delivering an engaging and ambitious curriculum across both subjects.
