Duties of a MOT Technician:
- Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Diagnose vehicle faults using mechanical expertise and diagnostic tools
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance tasks on a diverse range of vehicles
- Use hand and power tools efficiently to complete inspections and repairs
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used
- Assist in vehicle inspections, identifying potential issues proactively
- Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations within the workshop
- Provide clear explanations to customers regarding repairs and vehicle conditions
Requirements of a MOT Technician:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician and MOT Technician or in a similar role
- Valid MOT testing licence or willingness to obtain one
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools
- Ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and servicing efficiently
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
