Production Operator/ Machine Operator in Halesfield
Hours: Monday - Friday rotating 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm
Pay: £12.71 (including 30mins paid break + lunch is provided)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To follow all guidance and instructions.
- To inform the Management of any difficulties or problems within the Manufacturing process.
- To weigh up, mix, blend, process/extrude products as per the daily production schedule in the order on the daily Production Board.
- To ensure that all health & safety practices are in place and followed.
- That all extrusion machines and mixing equipment are used in accordance with the operating instructions, including following the LOTO procedure, ensuring any interlocks are used and maintained in good working order and that all machine guards are in place.
- To wear all appropriate and required PPE at all times during the working day. Assigned PPE to be kept in the individual locker.
- To wear cover shoes when leaving the production area to enter any other part of the site.
- To report any damages or equipment not working via the red label system - this includes any detection of failure of the de-dusting, ventilation systems, any abnormal noises and any electrical defects.
- To ensure that all safety equipment is used and is checked and fit for use.
- To ensure the standard of housekeeping is maintained in all areas at all times.
- To follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental regulations whilst in the Production area and on site.
- To manage the waste from production - sorting into skips.
- To ensure that all water usage and electricity usage is controlled and managed.
- To ensure that any risks of any pollution and contamination in production are controlled.
- To complete all production daily paperwork and documentation according to the requirements set. This includes the Lean Manufacturing Boards, Daily Production Sheets, Mixer crib sheets and any other documentation required.
- To attend any training programs or sessions on site.
- To respect his working and external environment and colleagues at all times.
- To adapt to any reasonable function within the production environment.
Experience:
- Experience in Manufacturing or Extrusion and/or Plastics / Master Batch industry.
- Knowledge and working practice in the plastics and master batch industry.
- Focus on all internal and external Customer requirements.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure with supervision.
- Experience to weigh for blending, use mixers and extruders.
- Attention to details - Innovative - can think out of the box.
