The predicted salary is between 26912 - 32892 £ per year.
Location: Base location will be Portland House, Sheffield S3 8UG however role will be predominantly outreach based. Driving licence and access to vehicle is essential due to this.
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 9am-5pm with the requirement to work outside of normal hours when needed.
Contract Type: Permanent

About the role:
To provide flexible, person-centred floating support to individuals with a history of drug and/or alcohol use, helping them to sustain their tenancies, prevent homelessness, and improve overall wellbeing. Housing Stability Workers will provide intensive tenancy sustainment support for individuals moving on from recovery housing, residential rehabilitation providers, prison, hospital and other settings. They will reduce evictions and tenancy breakdown through proactive, person-centred support.
Key duties will include:
- Support individuals to maintain safe and stable accommodation
- Assist with understanding tenancy agreements, rights, and responsibilities
- Work with landlords, housing providers, and local authorities to prevent eviction
- Support with rent payments, arrears management, and accessing benefits
- Work alongside drug and alcohol treatment services to support recovery goals
- Encourage engagement with treatment, healthcare, and support services
- Support relapse prevention and crisis planning
- Complete holistic assessments and risk assessments
- Develop and review support plans focused on housing stability
- Deliver tailored interventions based on individual needs
- Promote independence and progression
- Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
- Manage risks relating to substance use, mental health, and tenancy breakdown
- Follow organisational safeguarding policies and procedures
- Work in partnership with services such as housing, probation, health, and social care
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services
- Maintain accurate, timely case records
- Monitor outcomes related to tenancy sustainment and wellbeing
- Contribute to reporting requirements linked to Housing Support Grant
- Work flexibly, including community visits and lone working
