Business Support Apprentice (Property, Facilities, Procurement & Events)

This is a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship, designed to provide a strong foundation in business administration while supporting the Property, Facilities, Procurement and Events functions across the organisation.

You will develop practical business administration skills while gaining valuable exposure to procurement, property, facilities management and events coordination.

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will learn how to maintain accurate records, prepare documentation, organise meetings and travel, communicate with suppliers and colleagues, update business systems and support projects that contribute to the successful operation of our training centres and offices across the UK.

As your confidence and experience grows, you will gain an understanding of how Property, Facilities, Procurement and Events support the wider business, providing an excellent foundation for future career development.

Key Responsibilities

Business Administration

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Business Support team.
  • Answer and respond to internal & external enquiries, directing requests where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Update spreadsheets, databases and internal systems.
  • Coordinate diaries, meeting rooms and travel arrangements.
  • Support the team with general administrative duties as required.

Procurement Support

  • Assist with raising purchase orders.
  • Obtain quotations from suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier records and procurement documentation.
  • Support contract administration and renewal tracking.
  • Help maintain procurement records and filing systems.

Property & Facilities Support

  • Assist with coordinating planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Schedule contractor visits and maintain maintenance records.
  • Update property, asset and compliance records.
  • Support office moves, refurbishments and facilities projects.
  • Respond to routine facilities administration requests.

Events, Travel & Accommodation Support

  • Assist with organising internal meetings and events.
  • Book meeting rooms, venues and equipment.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for colleagues.
  • Prepare event materials and attendee information.
  • Maintain booking confirmations and event administration records.

Health, Safety & Compliance Administration

  • Maintain statutory compliance records.
  • Update contractor documentation and certificates.
  • Support health and safety administration.
  • Assist with compliance reporting and document management.

Working Week

37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Qualifications Required

Strong English, Maths and IT - Grade 4 GCSE (or equivalent) preferred

No previous administration experience is required. We're looking for someone with enthusiasm, commitment, and a desire to build a career in business administration.

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Business Administrator L3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.

Future Prospects

Successful completion of the apprenticeship could lead to a permanent role within the Business Support team, with future opportunities to develop into Business Support, Procurement, Property, Facilities, Events or Project Coordination roles.
