We are looking for a Bank Carer / Driver to work at our residential care home based in S13.

Shift Pattern: Day shifts, may include weekend and bank holiday work

All new team members are required to attend an induction at our training room in S13 prior to starting work in the care home.

These are run every three weeks, starting on a Tuesday, between 9:30am until 3:30pm.

Person Specification

  • Be able to work collaboratively
  • Must hold D1 driving licence
  • Must hold a full, clean UK driving licence
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The job role

  • To drive light vans/mini buses transporting clients and materials in a safe and efficient way
  • To ensure all passengers and materials are loaded safely and securely
  • To conduct routine checks on vehicles tyres, water and oil etc. reporting any faults to Senior Manager
  • To maintain minimum fuel levels filling vehicle as necessary and maintain vehicle log sheets
  • To accompany residents where necessary, to hospital, clinics and general practitioner appointments and associated services, including social activities
  • To support and assist our residents within our care home to live as independently as possible
  • To provide support with personal care (e. g. washing, going to the bathroom, dressing, eating and drinking)
  • To undertake manual handling, using equipment when required
  • To promote and uphold Sheffcare's values
  • To implement and uphold safe working practices in line with our regulations and our policies and procedures
  • To attend regular training where required
  • To support positive relationships with our residents, their family, colleagues and professionals
  • To record all updates using mobile technology
