An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join the Lung Cancer Screening as a Service Manager. The post will be based at Tribune House (YO30 4RY), however, the successful candidate may on occasion be required to travel to other sites.
The successful candidate requires excellent communication and team working skills and will work closely with clinical and non-clinical staff on a daily basis, organising and prioritising both their own workload and that of others. They must have the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving, and the ability to practice delegation, negotiation and motivation skills. Most importantly, the candidate must have a flexible and patient-centred approach.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Provide management support on a daily basis, focusing on managing day-to-day operational issues to ensure the smooth running of the Lung Cancer Screening Service.
- Assist the Programme Manager in the planning of the service, management of patient activity through the pathway and maintaining a safe and effective service.
- Support the Operational Service Manager in investigating and responding to patient complaints and concerns, received in an appropriate and timely manner, in accordance with Trust policy.
- Be responsible for the line management of a team of administrative staff, including acting as an appointment panel member, making recruitment and selection decisions, conducting personal development reviews, and dealing with disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and performance issues.
- Ensure that appropriate training is delivered to all staff, and that individual staff member(s) work allocation is managed effectively and reallocated as required to best meet the needs of the service.
