This exciting opportunity is based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, located in the heart of London. St Bartholomew’s is internationally recognised for excellence in patient care, education, and research. The Radiopharmacy Department at Barts Health is entering an exciting phase of growth and development. Working within Imaging Services, Radiopharmacy supports Nuclear Medicine by preparing specialist radioactive medicines used for diagnosis and treatment. The department works closely with scientists, pharmacy technicians, technologists, physicists, and clinicians as part of a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team. We are a licensed MHRA Radiopharmacy providing radiopharmaceuticals across the Trust and to external hospitals.
Our work includes:
- Aseptic preparation
- Clinical trials support
- Quality control testing
- Maintaining safe and reliable supply chains
This post is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in healthcare science or pharmacy technical services. You will support the day-to-day operation of the Radiopharmacy Preparation Unit, helping to ensure the safe, timely production and supply of:
- Preparing equipment, consumables, and work areas for manufacturing activities
- Preparation of Radiopharmaceutical kits and quality control testing
- Supporting stock control, receipting deliveries, and maintaining accurate records
- Cleaning, environmental monitoring, and routine quality checks
- Supporting radiation monitoring and waste handling (full training provided)
- Helping with the packing and dispatch of products to clinical areas
- Completing documentation in line with local procedures and regulatory standards
About you:
Previous Aseptic Production/Radiopharmacy experience is desirable - full training will be provided. We are looking for someone who:
- Is keen to learn and develop new skills
- Has good attention to detail and organisational ability
- Takes a careful, methodical approach to work
- Enjoys working as part of a team in a clinical environment
