Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the financial planning of the organisation.
- Prepare annual budgets and medium-term financial plans.
- Develop rolling cashflow forecasts.
- Produce monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
- Provide financial modelling for new services, contracts and business opportunities.
- Support the Executive Team and Board in strategic financial decision making.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigating actions.
- Contribute to the delivery of the organisations strategic objectives.
Financial Management
- Maintain the organisations accounting system (Xero).
- Ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
- Oversee payroll currently Sage 50 Payroll and associated financial processes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Monitor cashflow and banking arrangements.
- Ensure organisational statutory compliance.
- Support production of the annual statutory accounts.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors and HMRC.
Financial Reporting
- Produce timely monthly financial reports.
- Develop financial dashboards and KPIs.
- Monitor organisational budgets.
- Support managers with financial information and advice.
- Prepare reports for the Executive Team and Board.
- Produce ad hoc financial analysis when required.
Commercial and Business Support
- Provide financial advice on contract management.
- Support tender submissions and pricing.
- Undertake financial appraisal of new business opportunities.
- Review contract performance and profitability.
- Develop financial scenarios to support organisational planning.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and improved value for money.
Governance
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective internal financial controls.
- Support external audit as required.
- Maintain compliance with statutory requirements.
- Contribute to organisational risk management.
- Ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions.
Leadership
- Lead continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Develop efficient financial systems and processes.
