If so, Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Dispensary Pharmacy Technician – Management Support to join our dynamic pharmacy team at the Royal London Hospital.

In this exciting Band 5 role, you will provide senior managerial support within our busy dispensary, helping to ensure the accurate, safe, and timely dispensing of medicines for inpatients, outpatients, clinics, discharge prescriptions, and controlled drugs. Working closely with senior pharmacy staff, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the dispensary, supporting workload organisation, staff supervision, governance compliance, and service delivery.

You will be responsible for monitoring key performance indicators, supporting stock management, participating in audits, and contributing to the continuous improvement of pharmacy services. As an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT), you will help maintain high standards of patient safety while supporting efficient patient flow and reducing delays in discharge. The role also offers valuable leadership and development opportunities.

The post holder will provide senior technical support working in the dispensary to ensure the accurate and timely dispensing of all medication. Ensure patients receive a prompt and efficient service. The role will also involve supporting the supply of discharge prescriptions, inpatient requests, clinics prescriptions, and controlled drug prescriptions and will assist in leading on the day-to-day running of the in-patient pharmacy dispensaries.

They will also assist the dispensary senior staff in ensuring that good stock management is maintained in the dispensary, whilst keeping wastage to a minimum. Ensuring that the department keeps up to date with governance regulations. To support the dispensary manager and senior pharmacy team with the day-to-day management of the dispensary, including organisation of workload, KPI monitoring and supervision of all staff in the dispensary.

The post holder may be required to carry out medicine management duties on the wards and conduct audits for controlled drug management, medicines management, TTA pack management and FP10 management.
