The predicted salary is between 46134 - 56386 £ per year.

This is an established post of Clinical Fellow that supports our very busy electrophysiology service, and which has recently become vacant. The post is whole time and at ST5+ level on the Specialist Registrar scale. It is envisaged that the post-holder will contribute to the electrophysiology service, including catheter ablation and devices.

The post holder is expected to undertake a research/audit project during the fellowship and may have an opportunity to participate in the SpR out of hours On Call Cardiology service. The post holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with the Consultant Electrophysiologists as well as having close liaison with other disciplines, particularly the cardiac physiologists and arrhythmia nurses. The contract will be a 1-year contract in the first instance held with the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful applicant will be appointed as a senior fellow in cardiac electrophysiology and devices. The work programme will include up to 6 weekly sessions in the EP/devices cath lab in rotation with all the EP consultants, at least one weekly EP clinic, and one admin session. The successful applicant will be responsible for the in-patient care of arrhythmia and devices patients and will provide one formal ward round per week. In addition, there will be a session per week dedicated to audit and research.

It is expected that the appointed fellow will undertake clinical audit and will supervise resident doctors undertaking EP audits, as well as education of resident doctors on matters relating to cardiac electrophysiology and devices. Furthermore, the fellow will be required to set up and run a research project during this post. Finally, there is an educational EP meeting and MDT that runs every Friday morning and it will be the responsibility of the fellow to organize that meeting activity with the EP lead.
