A Senior Clinical Fellow post is available based in the National Amyloidosis Centre (NAC). It is suitable for a clinical trainee with a nephrology background or a speciality relevant to amyloidosis who wishes to gain experience in the clinical condition or clinical research. The NAC forms part of the Centre for Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Proteins and is located at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

The Centre maintains a longstanding high profile clinical and basic science research programme and serves as the national referral centre for patients with amyloidosis and inherited periodic fever (auto-inflammatory) syndromes. Amyloidosis is a multi-system disease that encompasses many specialties.

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the clinical services within the Centre (National Amyloidosis Centre) and will contribute to the clinical research program within the Centre. The post holder will have ample opportunity to join/develop research relevant to their interests including areas of existing research such as cardiac MRI scanning, proteomics, genetics, and clinical trials with novel agents in amyloidosis. The centre conducts a range of clinical trials in ATTR, AL and hereditary amyloidosis.

If the successful candidate is a SpR with a National Training Number (NTN) s/he should apply prospectively to the JRCPTB to discuss any educational or clinical credit which may be achieved from the post.
