We are looking to recruit a proactive, dynamic team member to assume the role of Senior Biomedical Scientist in the point of care team (POCT) which forms part of the clinical biochemistry team
The post holder must demonstrate effective leadership and management capabilities while working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
Successful Band 7 candidates MUST be registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
- a) Working as part of a team to provide a diagnostic laboratory service for point of care in accordance with national and professional standards.
- b) Provide Senior Biomedical Scientist input into the point of care team whilst being responsible for the day-to-day running of this team.
- c) With other senior staff, participate in the supervision, training and development of staff in the department ensuring that competencies are completed.
- d) Together with the Blood Sciences Management, develop and validate new point of care deviceswhich will contribute to the development of the services provided to meet the requirement of users.
- e) To ensure the promotion of awareness of users’ needs and requirements throughout the laboratory organisation.
