Hays Education are working in partnership with welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary schools in the Southam area to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs within a mainstream classroom setting, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN
  • Supporting children with needs such as Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning where required
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to support pupil progress
  • Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children within a school setting
  • Experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
  • Patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
