The role at a glance
You'll be supporting learners aged 16-19 with a range of special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop essential life and study skills.
Your support will play a key role in their academic progress and personal development.
- What you'll be doing
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
- Assisting in classroom, workshop and vocational sessions.
- Encouraging independence, communication and social development.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals.
- Supporting progress towards EHCP targets.
- Creating a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- What we\'re looking for
- Experience supporting young people with SEN (education, care, youth work or similar backgrounds welcome).
- A calm, empathetic and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to tailor support to individual needs.
- A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their goals.
- A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science - essential for this role.
