Security Team Leader - Average 42 hours per week - Days & Nights

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Team Leader to support the management team in delivering the smooth and efficient running of the security operation at a high-profile commercial building in Kensington.

The site is a modern, multi-level property with a steady flow of visitors, contractors and occupiers, requiring a proactive, visible and well-coordinated security presence throughout the day.

The overall objective of the team is to ensure the safety, security and wellbeing of the building, its occupants and visitors, while protecting the property against damage, loss or theft.

The Security Team Leader will help uphold site procedures, maintain high operational standards, and contribute to a safe, welcoming and professionally managed environment.

  • Job Requirements
  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence required.
  • 2 years Team Leader / Supervisor / Manager experience in the corporate sector is required.
  • IT and Staff Management skills required.
  • Willingness to learn and work with a team.
  • Excellent communication both written & verbal and communication skills.
  • Reliable, Responsible and Punctual.
  • To have a smart appearance befitting the company.
  • Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Be calm under pressure - Have the presence of mind be able to defuse difficult situations.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as on your own.
  • CCTV & First Aid qualifications.
  • Job Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the deployment of the security team to ensure that a satisfactory security presence is maintained on site as required by the customer.
  • To ensure the highest standards of customer care are maintained all times when dealing with staff, and visitors to the site.
  • To ensure that all security personnel adhere to their duties and policies and procedures of the site and report any breach of these immediately to the security manager.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor in all areas of his responsibility and maintain a close working relationship.
  • Establish a thorough understanding of the site specification and monitor the frequencies of all activities ensuring they are current and in line with customers’ expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and establish and maintain a good reputation with the customer.
  • Respond to customer communication in a professional and timely manner.
  • Supervise the team ensuring all officers are following site procedures in line with the customers’ requirements.
  • To ensure the Handover is checked at the beginning of the shift to ensure all vital details are carried out before their time.
  • Able to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Be able to liaise with external authorities and services as required and build and maintain relationships with stake holders.
  • To ensure that the daily occurrence book is maintained correctly and that all relevant reports are completed.
  • Responsible for all staff under their direct supervision and ensuring that all staff wear correct uniform, appropriate personal protective equipment and are regularly briefed.
  • Respond accordingly to emergencies and incidents including fire and intruder alarms and assisting in the evacuation of the buildings where necessary.
  • Maintain a good level of morale and discipline within the team taking into consideration their welfare.
  • Identify any training needs for your staff and feedback to your line management.
  • Take a proactive approach to increasing the services offered to customer.
  • Complete appropriate training documentation and records.
  • Ensure any changes to site operations are referenced and included within the assignment instructions for the site against which all security officers should be assessed to ensure their understanding and compliance.

All instructions must be signed as having been read and understood.

  • If new duties are not referenced, then this must be brought to your line management’s attention Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as a colleague of CIS and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues, and customers.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain staff discipline, standards and conduct.
  • Monitor the security officer’s performance, conduct annual appraisals in line with company policy and encourage their personal development.
  • Regularly audit site equipment & ensure that site paperwork is correctly maintained.
  • Attend all required meetings with the customer and your line management in support of the company’s aim of consistent quality service delivery.
  • Ensure that you complete and submit timesheets/holiday and forms within the given timescales.
  • Liaise closely with your Team to ensure that they are aware of any changing requirements of the contract and regularly briefed.
  • Carry out any reasonable requests made by CIS management.
  • Flexible in the approach to daily duties.
