Search Consultancy is recruiting a precision 2nd Fix Joiner for an active commercial fit-out project in Newcastle upon Tyne. Offering a competitive rate of £25.00 per hour (CIS), this position provides continuous full-time hours and long-term site stability for a tradesperson capable of delivering clean, fast, and accurate finishing work. If you hold a valid Blue or Gold CSCS card, take pride in tight mitres and pristine internal finishes, and want reliable weekly income with a leading main contractor, we want to hear from you.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Working alongside site supervisors and interior finishing teams, your day-to-day duties will focus on internal 2nd fix joinery and timber installations:
  • Doors & Ironmongery: Hanging internal door leaves into pre-set frames, mortising and fitting locks, latches, handles, flush bolts, and door closers.
  • Mouldings & Trims: Scribing, mitring, and fixing skirtings, architraves, picture rails, and dado rails with invisible fixings and tight joints.
  • Cabinetry & Fixtures: Installing pre-fabricated vanity units, kitchen units, boxing-in pipework, fitting window sills, and assembling internal storage solutions.
  • Precision Finishing: Working from architectural drawings, ensuring square cuts, flush margins, and clean finishes ready for decorating teams.
  • Remedial & Snagging: Executing high-grade snagging work, adjusting door alignment, and ensuring smooth operation of all fitted hardware.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • To satisfy site entry and quality standards, all applicants must possess:
  • CSCS Card: A valid Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Advanced Craft / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery) CSCS card is strictly mandatory.
  • Trade Expertise: Proven track record in commercial or high-end residential 2nd fix finishing work.
  • Tools & Kit: Full 110V or cordless 2nd fix joinery kit (mitre saw, plunge saw, cordless nail guns, routers, hand planes, chisels) and standard 5-point PPE.
  • Transport: Reliable transport to commute to site locations in Newcastle upon Tyne daily.
  • Right to Work: Valid proof of right to work in the UK.
