Due to an increase in team size, we are recruiting into a new management role, this could be a great opportunity for you! The position of Night Hygiene First Line Manager is responsible for leading and managing all cleaning operations during the night shift within our poultry processing facility. The post holder must ensure full compliance with UK food safety legislation and retailer standards, including requirements set by the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and local authorities. The post holder will have personal accountability for approx. 80 colleagues taking full accountability for managing all aspects of safe, effective and efficient conduct, absence and performance, coupled with achieving specific Shift / Area KPI’s.
Main Responsibilities
- Review, develop and manage your team in order to ensure that they maintain acceptable levels/standards of performance, attendance and conduct.
- Ensure that the site is legally & contractually compliant in all areas and actively promote hygiene & health & safety, immediately halting any unsafe working practice & taking appropriate action to remedy.
- Ensure full compliance with all Accident Investigations, identifying root cause and issuing preventative next steps and ensuring that incidents are investigated in a timely manner and to the required standard.
- Implement required SSW's / SOPs, and drive required corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with H&S duties.
- Ensure that all employees within your team are aware of their roles/accountabilities, that training is provided to meet these and that 2SFG employment & communication policies are complied with.
This post is working permanent nights, with a shift pattern of: 4on, 4off. Working hours for Monday-Friday are 21:30-06:00, Saturday and Sunday hours are 18:00-06:00.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will lead the team in ensuring that all factory areas and machinery are cleaned and disinfected to the highest standard, ready for safe production. Previous Supervisory/Management Experience is essential, coupled with:
- Experience preparing for audits, reviews and inspections.
- Experience with total legal compliance in all areas of H&S, Technical and people as well as living the organisations values and competencies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate at all levels and build a strong and effective team.
- Solid level of numeracy - able to calculate and report on performance and shift KPI’s.
- Track record of managing teams; building capability, addressing any issues effectively and in compliance with legislative and company policies and procedures.
