Permanent | Full Time | Whole Year Salary: Grade 5

Hays Education are pleased to be working in partnership with a local primary school to recruit a dedicated and proactive Site Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities professional who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site and supporting the upkeep and development of the premises.

  • Working Hours
  • Monday to Wednesday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
  • Thursday to Friday: 7:00am - 2:30pm
  • Full time, all year round

Key Responsibilities

  • Opening and securing the school premises.
  • Maintaining site security and responding to out-of-hours alarms when required.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Monitoring heating, lighting, and building systems.
  • Supporting statutory compliance checks, including emergency lighting, fire alarms, and water hygiene testing.
  • Ensuring the site remains clean, safe, and well-presented.
  • Managing waste disposal and site housekeeping.
  • Identifying and addressing health and safety concerns.
  • Supporting safe vehicle and pedestrian access during school drop-off and collection times.
  • Undertaking risk assessments and following COSHH procedures.
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience in a site supervision, caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role.
  • Practical maintenance and DIY skills.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • The ability to work independently and manage their workload effectively.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive and reliable approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
