A leading infrastructure and highways contractor is looking to appoint a Highways Schemes Supervisor to support the successful delivery of highway improvement, road renewal and maintenance schemes across London.

This is a site-based role, working closely with project delivery teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.

Your new role

As Highways Schemes Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day delivery of multiple highway schemes from pre-construction through to completion.

  • Review and check Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Monitor programmes and coordinate with contractors, clients and local authorities to ensure key milestones are met.
  • Manage permits, approvals and site documentation.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including labour, plant and photographic evidence.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and health & safety requirements.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, including traffic management checks and safety inspections.
  • Support the resolution of construction issues and provide information required for compensation events and early warnings.
  • Assist with the production of as-built information and handover documentation.
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous highway construction experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of NEC3 contracts and the ability to manage site instructions and change control processes.
  • Understanding of the Specification for Highway Works.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and work streams simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8 and Traffic Management requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • SMSTS or NRSWA qualification.
  • CSCS card preferred.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor qualification desirable.
